Closure: The Mesa Falls Visitor Center area (all Forest Service land within 1/4 mile of it) and the Upper Mesa Falls Road from the upper gate through the visitor center are closed for construction, Aug 13 to Dec 31, 2026, unless rescinded (Caribou-Targhee NF order 04-15-26-310). The take-out for this run, just above Upper Mesa Falls, is inside the closed area (order map, Exhibit A). Call the ranger district before you launch. The put-in at Hatchery Ford is not in the closure.
